Hannah (she/her) is a curious and creative mixed Indigenous-European visitor to lək̓ʷəŋən territory. It is her first year at EPIC, and she is excited to learn, play, and laugh with the Maples this year.
Hannah graduated from the University of Guelph in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and a minor in Anthropology. She completed an undergraduate thesis discussing how Western environmental science and Indigenous Traditional and Local Knowledge can complement each other, and when combined, can create a deep understanding of the world around us. Hannah is an outgoing and bubbly person who is passionate about spending time on the land with people of all ages and demographics.
For two years, Hannah taught high school in a remote fly-in community in Northern Ontario. Some of the best days of her life so far have been spent with students outdoors. She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and creating more fond memories this school year. Since 2018, she has owned her own creative business which acts as her primary career. Hannah’s mother and grandmother are both full-time artists, and she is proud to carry along the tradition.
Hannah rarely goes anywhere without her dog Sage, and in their spare time they enjoy beach combing, hiking, picnicking, swimming in lakes, napping in the moss, and watching the sun rise from their tent.
