Meg

Meg grew up here on the Island on the lands of the Kwalikum First Nations, and spent most of her time in the forest eating salmonberries and making tree forts. Alternative, outdoor-based learning had a huge impact on Meg’s life as a teenager, and means that she has a unique appreciation for how transformational these experiences can be for others.

Now, she loves to facilitate connections between people and the natural world in many different ways. Most recently, she’s spent time guiding youth and families on hiking, canoeing, and climbing trips in Strathcona Park, and has also worked at different forest schools, summer camps, and outdoor education centres for the past several years. She’s also recently completed a degree in Environmental Studies and Geography through UVic, and loves to bring her learnings there into her work whenever possible.

Meg is as passionate about having her own adventures and experiences of deep nature connection as she is about facilitating these for others, and in her personal time loves to go on hiking and climbing trips in the mountains. She’s also a keen tidepooler, gardener, reader, and kombucha brewer. She’s so excited to be working at EPIC this year, and can’t wait to meet everyone!
